If a chair has the flat shape, we usually use a phrase "sit on".

Double Comparatives

Structure

the + comparative form + subject + verb ,(comma) + the + comparative form + subject + verb.

Example

The brighter the sun, the happier I feel.

The more, the merrier. (The more there are, the merrier it is.)


(With double comparatives, present tense forms of be are often omitted)
